my 10 year old wet the bed last night.  i have never seen so much pee.  and he didn't have a mattress protector.

i'm stalling on the clean up for two reasons.
#1 it's just really gross and overwhelming
#2 i have an extra baby today and also an extra family member that are keeping me extra busy.
not too busy to blog, apparently, just too busy to clean up 10 yr old boy pee.

as for the baby-
i have never met him or his family before, but he is spending the day with me (the whole day 7am-6pm) because his parents were kind of in a bind.

i loved how my kids came downstairs this morning when they woke up to find mom holding a random baby, and once again, no one comments.  no one asks who he is or where he came from they just start in on their morning- getting ready for school.  so funny.
and so far he has been a breeze.

and the extra family member-
we spent last weekend at the lake.  we are putting on an addition- 7 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for our ever-growing family.
and while we were there my mom ran into town to get supplies, and saw bunnies for sale.
and somehow 3 of her granddaughters ended up with bunnies from grandma that day.

so here we go- another attempt at a pet- i have a terrible track record with pets.
i'm flashing back to disappearing kittens, kittens with extreme diarrhea, cats riding around in the engine of dave's truck, one cat wandering the ductwork of our house for a day, a bunny who's cage was left open one night, a rat who got loose in our house for a week, etc.....
but this time around shaeya is doing all the work so maybe, just maybe, this one will beat the odds.....

but back to the pee.
i'm realizing that the amount of pee i deal with on a daily basis is gradually lessening.
i used to have some sort of pants peeing, bed wetting, pull-up or diaper leakage every day.  now its more like once or twice a week.
which is wonderful, but puts me a bit out of the mode, so that when it does happen it's somehow a bit more inconvenient than it used to be.

like last week's ordeal-
after dinner i washed neiko up at the sink, but put wren in the bathtub.
i was tackling the rest of the kitchen when i heard wren's blood curdling screams coming from the bathroom.  i walked in to find neiko in the tub with her.  he had apparently let himself in- diaper and all.
which at the time was kinda cute- i laughed.  and took pictures.

then i took his sopping- wet diaper off and went back to the kitchen clean up.  only to hear more shrieks from the bathroom.
he had pooped in the tub.
guess i shoulda left that diaper on him ;)

i carried two contaminated kids to my shower and washed them.  then i dried them, put on diapers for bed, coated them in lotion, and then set them free so i could start fishing poop and bath toys out of the tub.
i got about halfway done when i discovered that while i was cleaning up, the two freshly cleaned kids had been playing together in the toilet in another bathroom.

and i have to admit that i got a little overwhelmed at that point.
i had to reshower the kids and i had two very disgusting bathrooms to clean.
i just hadn't had anything like that happen in awhile.
but good thing it did! because it makes cleaning up one peed in bed today seem not quite so bad :)

One year ago today, on April 15th....

We met the most gorgeous, brown-eyed, curly haired little boy......

He changed our view of life, and strengthened our faith in the complete sovereignty of our Savior....

We fell in love with his spirit and his amazing smile....

He found his place in the family.....

And in 19 days he will become our son :)

14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
In your book were written, every one of them,
he days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
